Administrative court judges optimize processes with Porsche ConsultingLean management should noticeably improve length and quality of court procedures
Stuttgart/Bautzen. Experts of the management consultancy Porsche Consulting, Bietigheim-Bissingen, would like to contribute to the further optimization of processes within administrative courts in Saxony.
18 administrative judges from Bautzen, Leipzig, Dresden and Chemnitz are being trained by the consultants – with the objective of noticeably increasing the quality and efficiency of court procedures. The initial focus is upon a sustainable improvement of manpower requirement planning: The Higher Administrative Court (OVG) requires sufficient professionally specialized lawyers, in order to more quickly reduce the backlog of older proceedings and to handle new proceedings in a speedy manner.
In order to not only increase the flexibility of the justice system, but also the quality of court proceedings, OVG president Erich Künzler and his judges would first like to become acquainted with the methods of lean management as practiced in industry. Subsequently, it should be explored how it can be possible to realize personnel policy measures in the court service, focusing on a lean and consistent creation of value. The Saxon lawyers seek to achieve a more expedient planning of personnel requirements, primarily focusing on specialty skills, thereby leading to a higher degree of satisfaction of results, both for the parties involved and the judges.
The management consultancy Porsche Consulting is a subsidiary of
Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, and transfers to many other sectors the methods of lean, highly efficient procedures that have been successfully proven over the years with the manufacturer of sporty premium vehicles. An established element at the beginning of each consulting session consists in practical exercises. For this reason, the Saxon judges will also assume operational functions during the simulation of production procedures which will be carried out in workshops. In so doing, they are able to gain insights in the reduction of processing times with simultaneous increase in quality in industry, which can also be applied to their legal procedures and which can speed up court proceedings.
